Summary

This job involves leading a team of engineers at a U.S.

Marine Corps base in Okinawa, Japan, where you'll assign tasks, oversee projects, and handle long-term planning to ensure smooth operations and construction.

It's ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys supervising others, meeting tight deadlines, and working in a military environment abroad.

Be prepared for limited medical access and possible travel within the region.

Key Requirements

Please see Additional Information section below.*** You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the Marine Corps Installations Pacific of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER.

In addition to the Basic Education Requirements (below) for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER supervising multiple engineering disciplines, planning and organizing work for a workforce, providing engineering guidance to the workforce, meeting deadlines under pressure, and fulfilling the requirements of the position without more than normal supervision.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT continued: Active professional registration in a U.S.

Jurisdiction as a Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), or American Institute of Community Planners (AICP) certification from the American Planning Association is desired.

Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) up to 5% may be required. You may be assigned to other duty station or camps in Okinawa.

Additional Information continued: ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher.

  • You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
  • You will provide technical oversight; develop performance plans and rate employees; interview candidates for subordinate positions; and recommend hiring, promotion and reassignments.
  • You will conduct all master planning functions and develop operating concepts and method to meet the organization's goals and objectives.
  • You will communicate closely with all planners on the overall construction phasing of all projects allowing for the fully mission capable operations of tenant commands.
  • You will serve as the focal point for end users regarding master planning and planning related studies.
  • You will review the conclusions of design, feasibility, and planning studies promoting integration of study findings and recommendations into final plans for the programming of facilities
