This job involves leading fire protection efforts for Navy installations in Japan, including directing firefighting operations, running prevention programs through inspections and training, and advising on safety matters.
A good fit would be someone with supervisory experience in fire services who is physically fit, certified in key firefighting areas, and ready for a demanding schedule in a remote overseas location.
It requires strong leadership to manage teams and resources while enforcing regulations to keep facilities safe.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience implementing and supervising the functions of an effective fire prevention program, through inspections, training and enforcement of fire regulations.

Additional Condition of Employment Continued: ***This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: DoD certifications Fire Officer III, Fire Inspector III, Fire Instructor II, and HazMat Incident Command to meet the requirement.

You must have a government vehicle operator's permit. Work requires an annual physical. Work requires participation in a physical fitness program.
Incumbent will be required to work a 60-hour work week with eating and sleeping facilities provided in accordance with general firefighting practices.
Work schedule will consist of four 9-hour days and one 24-hour shift per week.
You will work in various settings, such as office buildings, warehouses, industrial buildings, and construction sites and you are required to wear protective clothing such as mask, goggles, gloves, shields etc.
You are required to lift up to 50 pounds, walking 2-4 hours daily, occasional climbing and maintaining mental alertness, self-control, and emotional stability to carry out the duties of this position.
