Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTOR in the Public Safety Division of MCLB ALBANY GA.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical expertise, and training in fire protection efforts; assigning work requirements; directing firefighting operations; implementing plans and programs; and providing direction during emergency incidents.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will be responsible for developing and implementing a systemic inspection program for all facilities on the installation.
  • You will inspect and initiate immediate corrective action in circumstances as they arise, involving storage of hazardous materials, broken or leaking gas lines.
  • You will provide guidance and instruction to subordinates in areas such as recommended training, inspection of facilities, plans reviews and daily work schedules.
  • You will establish criteria, formulate projects, assess program effectiveness, investigate or analyze a variety of unusual conditions, problems or questions.
  • You will review all plans for new construction, alterations, renovation of facilities on the installation.
  • You will keep the Fire chief informed on all matters relative to the fire prevention training and safety programs.
  • You will be at all times to present a detailed report on the Fire Prevention program requirements, objectives and accomplishments
