Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the Comptroller Department (N8), Budget (N81), Budget Execution/ Metrics (N813) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience directing and/or performing continuing program execution review, analysis and appraisal of major operating and support programs within the organization.

Experience preparing briefs for senior managers on program execution and providing recommendations to correct program variances or problem areas.

Experience providing interpretive and analytical advice on financial transactions and program execution and developing format and content to provide managers with various listing, reports, and data related to the status of funds and the propriety of obligations.

Experience coordinating the development and reporting of cost and performance information in support of mission tasks for the organization.

Experience planning work, setting priorities, and schedules as necessary to assure effective and expeditious accomplishment of priority work without adverse effect on regular and recurring work.

  • You will perform or advise on work in any of the phases of budget administration.
  • You will work within areas concerning performance of functions such as formulation of budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities, including presenting and defending budget estimates before authorities.
  • You will review and evaluate budget requests, control, and report of obligations and expenditures.
  • You will work on developing, determining, and interpreting budgetary policies and practices.
  • You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management programs and administrative operations, implementing legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets.
  • You will provide advice of effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organizations programs and activities.
