Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage budgets and financial resources for the U.S.

Marine Corps, including reviewing spending plans, analyzing costs, and creating policies to ensure money is used efficiently.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the Resource Programming and Resources Division of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: coordinating/reviewing budget estimates, monitoring budget execution, conducting cost analysis, and ensuring efficient utilization of an organization's financial resources; developing or recommending budgetary/financial policies.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will interpret and develops Regional programming policies, practices, and procedures to maintain and improve financial management operations.
  • You will draft, staff, and issue programming guidance to establish the timeline for development, review, and approval of program plans.
  • You will monitor appropriated funds commitments and obligations to analyze effectiveness of budget allocations, identify savings for re-allocation to command priority efforts, and ensure execution does not exceed budget authority.
  • You will analyze and consider a wide range of budget and program factors such as legal and regulatory constraints, limited funding, operations under continuing resolution authority, contingencies, and alternative means of accomplishing objectives.
  • You will review and evaluate all Marine Corps Programming Code (MCPC) programs and present/defend programs requests before approving authorities (commanders and senior staff) within and external to the command.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
