To qualify for a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.

To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes: Supporting comprehensive installation operation, maintenance, and property programs.

Develop policies and procedures regarding maintenance and property operations. Plans, programs, reviews, designs, and ensure execution of assigned projects.

Provides support programming, planning, and execution decisions during annual program cycles. Establishes guidance for overall program execution.

Making recommendations in response to changing facility operation needs in both normal & emergency situations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Serves as the Chief, Facility Support Branch, and principal adviser to the Installation Site Director, Commander, tenants, senior officials and their staff
  • on facilities, equipment maintenance, space management/utilization, real property accountability, real estate actions, maintenance activities, and installation operational matters.
  • Exercising leadership and overall responsibility for managing, coordinating, and directing the Facility Support Branch.
  • Developing, planning, managing, and evaluating all facets of space management/utilization, real property accountability, real estate actions and facilities related database administration through EBS.
  • Leads and oversees staff delivering key support services.
  • including facility operations, equipment accountability and procurement, MHE training, service and warranty contract management, fleet oversight, and preparing packages for DLA Installation Management Richmond.
  • Providing administrative, operational, and technical supervision over several diverse missions and functions, directly and through subordinate supervisors, work leaders and others.
  • Making frequent, quick decisions that require consideration of a wide range of factors between interlinked programs that have direct impact on mission effectiveness and success.
