Supervisory Computer Assisted Ordering Technician supervises a number of personnel performing Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO) tasks and is responsible for all the overall commissary CAO system and item maintenance affecting the in-stock position for the entire commissary within the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) system.

OR Combination of experience and education: To calculate the combination, divide your total months of experience by 12, then divide your semester hours by 60 and add the two percentages.

Experience: One (1) year of demonstrated knowledge of retail procurement and distribution methods; principles, procedures, and techniques of retail food merchandising and retail food store management; and developments in commercial retail food store items, equipment, and practices (specialized experience) equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level.
Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.
Examples of qualifying experience include: Monitors and adjusts CAO system calculated orders to preclude insufficient or excessive stock.
Researches discrepancies between automated system and physical inventory. Operates hand held terminals to input, edit, update and retrieve inventory levels.
Monitors accuracy of Balance on Hand, flagged items, and Sales History Reports and makes necessary changes to the daily order reports.
Performs daily inventory audit of items not in stock and/or overwrite items. Coordinates stocking of merchandise with contract stockers.
Works with vendors and distributors to resolves stocking, ordering or shipping problems.
OR Education: One (1) full year of graduate level education with major study in business administration, public administration, agricultural economics (food industry management), or other fields related to the position; or superior academic achievement.
OR Combination of experience and education.
To calculate the combination, divide your total months of experience by 12, then divide your graduate level semester hours by the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study or 18 and add the two percentages.
If the total is 100%, you meet the minimum qualifications through a combination of experience and education.
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date.
Your resume must clearly show that you have one (1) year of experience conducting job analysis, posting vacancies in an automated system, advising management on a variety of recruitment authorities and techniques, evaluating applicants for eligibility and qualifications, creating and issuing referral certificates, making job offers and onboarding personnel, and preparing and auditing personnel actions for accuracy and regulatory compliance (specialized experience) equivalent to at least GS-11.
Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) basic requirement and qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date.
Basic Requirement: (1) A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field, or (2) At least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
AND Qualifications: Your resume must clearly show that you have one (1) year of experience applying Federal laws, regulations, policies, procedures and general business practices to buy and sell goods and services in support of the mission, and using innovative techniques to develop contractual arrangements (specialized experience) equivalent to at least GS-11.
Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Physical requirements: (1) Physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, lifting, carrying and reaching while searching for stock and replenishing shelves is required.
(2) Lift, push, pull, carry, and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds independently and occasionally over 40 pounds with assistance.
(3) Work may be performed in the freeze and chill boxes exposing incumbent to extremes in temperature. Must be able to wear any/all protective clothing provided, such as freezer gear.

Major Duties: - Maintains the Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO) system with current, accurate data to ensure optimal order quantities are calculated necessary to sustain customer demands.
- Uses radio-frequency hand-held terminals to gather data necessary to update and adjust inventory. - Records and updates Balance on Hand (BOH) data; maintains perpetual inventory and audits credits.
- Performs daily inventory audit of items not-in-stock and overwrite items.
- Evaluates stock levels of all CAO categories daily by physically reviewing the storage and display shelf locations, shippers and warehouse.
- Interfaces with all levels of management and deals directly with commercial distributor/vendor stocking representatives on issues affecting CAO.
- Supervises CAO technicians, performs a variety of duties such as: planning & assigning work for employees; setting priorities and preparing work schedules.
