About the Position: This position serves as a Supervisory, Clinical Psychologist at Army Health Clinic, SHAPE, Belgium.

This position is responsible for supervising assigned employees and applying psychological principles, theories, methods or data to provide patient care to eligible beneficiaries.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Supervisory Clinical Psychologist: Education: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.

or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.

(You MUST provide transcripts with your application) In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assessing acute behavioral health conditions to make a proper diagnosis; 2) providing crisis intervention/treatment plans to beneficiaries; AND 3) providing consultation in appropriate therapeutic techniques to other staff members.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Serve as a Clinical Supervisor in Mental Health. Function as the authoritative source of information for the specialty of Psychology.
  • Provide guidance to the hospital commander regarding policy in Psychology issues.
  • Provide individual, couple, family, and group psychological counseling utilizing a variety of treatment modalities.
  • Select, administer, score, and interpret objective and projective psychological tests.
  • Participate with other professional staff in providing emergency behavioral health services to include screening patients for appropriateness of psychiatric hospitalization.
  • Provide psychological and clinical consultation to other professionals and paraprofessionals through established consultation channels.
  • Teach classes such as Suicide Prevention, Stress Management, Mental Status Evaluation, and Deployment Briefings.
  • Provide guidance, give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both technical and administrative matters.
