Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team in managing the Navy's accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and ensuring everything meets government audit standards.
You'll guide staff, create policies, and communicate with high-level officials about funding and finances.
It's ideal for an experienced accountant with leadership skills who understands federal rules and enjoys improving financial processes in a military setting.
You will serve as a Supervisory Accounting Officer in the Accounting Division, Code 083 of OFFICE OF NAVAL RESEARCH.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NO-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating knowledge of accounting principles, understanding of federal appropriations law, and knowledge of DoN financial management systems; 2) Overseeing a variety of functions such as accounting operations, financial reporting, disbursements, funds control, payment certifications and financial improvement and audit readiness initiatives; and 3) Ensuring continuous staff training with proven results and impacts leading to a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
