West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility is seeking a full-time Supervisor I for the housekeeping and laundry department. West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility is a 120-bed long term care facility located in Clarksburg, WV.

This position requires hands-on supervision and will work alongside those you supervise including disinfecting, collecting garbage, dusting, vacuuming, using floor sweepers, buffers, and scrubbers.

This role supports leadership with supervision of housekeeping and laundry staff including evaluating, supporting, and training staff.

Responsible for the day-to-day functions of the housekeeping and laundry department including assigning daily duties, reviewing work output, resolving issues, and training employees.

This position completes employee schedules, employee evaluations, and approves leave. Works with the social services department to complete resident room moves.

Ensures rooms are clean and sanitized for new residents. Works with the infection control nurse to adapt to any changes.

Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies, completes purchase orders, completes monthly inspection reports of lifts and wheelchairs. Does daily inspections of hallways and common areas.

Operates housekeeping equipment and laundry equipment including buffers and floor scrubbers. Must work well with others and as part of a team.

Qualifications

Training: Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent.

Experience: Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the area of assignment, one year of which must have been in a lead worker or administrative support capacity.
Substitution: Course work from a regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience up to four years for non-trade positions.

Substitution for Business/Trade Positions: Completion of a course accredited by the Department of Education may be substituted for experience at the rate of 1,080 hours per year. OR Completion of a related trade union-sponsored apprenticeship program may be substituted for equivalent amount of full-time experience.
