This summer internship as an Accounting Aide involves helping accountants with tasks like financial audits, reconciling inventory numbers, and handling administrative duties such as filing documents and responding to inquiries.

The AOC has unique and exciting opportunities to serve as an Accounting Aide during the Summer Internship Program, which offers hands on professional experience, networking, training and most of all exposure to careers in public service, on Capitol Hill.
All students must be U.S. Citizens. Applications will be accepted from college students who are at least sixteen (16) years of age by June 30, 2026, AND currently attending college or university.
Students must have a major in accounting, business administration, finance, public administration or related field.
Note: Participation in the Summer Intern Employment Program is limited to a total of three years.
Candidates are eligible to participate no more than three years, collectively or consecutively, in the Summer Intern Employment Program.
Candidates who have reached the three years in the program will be deemed ineligible to participate this calendar year.
Major Duties:
Accounting Aide In this role the Accounting Aide will assist accountants with work related to financial statement audits and performs mathematical reconciliations involving inventory data of selected organizations.
Students will perform a variety of general support duties consisting of administrative functions such as organizing and electronic filing, managing incoming inquiries, developing and distributing correspondence and additional related tasks.
