Summary

This job is for a student helper in Michigan's transportation department, where you'll support experts by updating traffic signal databases, reviewing crash information, filling out spreadsheets, and writing letters for traffic studies.

It's a part-time role limited to 129 hours a month, offering hands-on training in how traffic signals work.

Our team is seeking a Student Assistant, for our Bureau of Field Services Team. We are looking for someone who can embrace the challenges of meeting our goals and exceeding the standards!
This position is responsible for assisting professional staff in using and updating various signal related databases, compiling and assessing crash data, populating spreadsheets, and drafting correspondence for signal related studies. The student receives training and experience in traffic signal operations.

The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the Student Assistant position.

Education
Current enrollment in high school, vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institution. MDOT requires enrollment in at least 6 credit hours per semester/term excluding summers and continuously enrolled and earning the required credits.

Submit proof of enrollment which includes unofficial transcripts, an acceptance letter from the college/university (as long as it is for the upcoming semester/term), copy of current semester/term schedule, or a receipt of tuition payment that shows a balance of $0.00.
