You are required to work at your assigned work location during your scheduled work times.
Associate’s degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
One (1) year of professional experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position
Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis
Special Qualifications – Explain: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
Experience in sterile processing, central medical supply, or medical equipment handling
Experience with cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of reusable medical instruments or equipment
Experience following standardized procedures, infection prevention practices, and manufacturer instructions for use (IFUs)
Experience maintaining basic documentation, logs, or records
Current certification in sterile processing (e.g., CRCST, CBSPD)
Knowledge of sterile processing practices and infection prevention principles
Ability to follow standardized procedures and manufacturer instructions for use (IFUs)
Attention to detail in identifying instrument defects (e.g., damage, corrosion)
Ability to maintain accurate documentation and logs
Basic knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, AAMI)
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently, proactively, and collaboratively within a clinical setting
Previous State Experience
Conditions of Employment:
Must possess a valid, non-restricted Colorado Driver’s License or a non-restricted U.S. Driver's License for positions within 30 miles of the CO state border
Out-of-State Driver’s License holders must obtain a valid, non-restricted Colorado Driver’s License within 30 days of employment start date.
May be exposed to bodily fluids or caustic chemicals - SPD Cleaning Chemicals.
May drive CDHS equipment to/from vendors and drive a state vehicle.
A 2-step TB (tuberculosis) screening is required of all new employees upon hire.
Annual influenza plus any other vaccinations as required by the State of Colorado.

CBI name check and fingerprint check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, Reference Checks, Professional License verification (licensure requirements), Drug Screen, PREA (Division of Youth Services),Trails check (direct contact with children), CAPS (direct contact with adults – Mental Health Institutes, Regional Centers, Veterans Community Living Centers)
