Full Job Description

This position directs the Office of Performance Maangement (OPM) within the Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB). This position is responsible for directing and managing staff specializing in the areas of administrative and technical policy, continuous improvement, strategic planning, metrics consulting, IT governance, employee engagement, customer satifaction, survey administration and related activities. This position also provides leadership on special department wide projects and strategic initiatives in coordination with the DTMB Director's Office.

  • The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.

Position Location/Remote Office: The office location is Lansing, MI. The State of Michigan is not able to offer employment to out of-state applicants that do not plan to relocate. The Department of Technology Management and Budget currently offers a hybrid work option which requires two days working on-site at the official work location and three days of remote work per week.

Requirements

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience
Two years of experience as a professional manager or program/staff specialist, or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements
