The Parks and Recreation Division Section Chief of Administrative Services is responsible for the planning, directing, controlling, and overall administration of the following programs with staff in the Division Office as well as the Statewide Field Locations: operating budget, capital outlay budget, human resources, personnel, labor relations, automated business systems, accounting, inventory, revenue, expenditures, and finance. The Section Chief reviews and evaluates the work of personnel in human resources, financial and procurement units, as well as the work of personnel in the field locations, to ensure conformance with general guidelines, methods, techniques, policies, and law.

Work location options: Lansing, RAM Center/Roscommon, or Roscommon Customer Service Center. If the office location is not in Lansing, there will be an expectation for the employee to be present in Lansing often and travel to Lansing for meetings with staff and DNR leadership at least 2-4 times per month.

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

Qualifications

Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
