Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping plan, develop, and manage training programs for the U.S.

Army Reserve, including reviewing operations, advising on technology tools, and handling budgets to ensure effective soldier preparation.

It's based at a military base in New Jersey and requires you to be an active Army Reserve Soldier.

About the Position: This is a military technician position with the 84th Training Command, 78th Training Division located at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey.

This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing guidance on training; developing training programs and procedures; conduct inspections and review of guidance to evaluate training operations; advise on the use of automated training systems; analyze data to determine a training budget; and determine final decision on budget requests.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M.

in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Organizational Management and Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, or Management.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Major Duties:

  • Prepare and submit data for budget formulation.
  • Recommend final decision on expenditure requests.
  • Advise senior leadership on use of automated training systems.
  • Evaluate training plans and schedules to develop the Command’s training program.
  • Develop mobilization training plans for approval by senior leadership.
  • Conduct inspections or reviews to evaluate training operations.
  • Prepare guidance on operation and training activities to ensure compliance with training quota requirements.
