Full Job Description

Position DescriptionAs a staff level attorney, the incumbent is expected to handle legal assignments that have significant impact on cases involving child support. The incumbent will routinely handle assignments of varying legal complexity. Under the supervision of the Division Chief and the First Assistant, reviews warrant requests, approves warrants, search warrants, investigative subpoenas, MiCSES records, child support payment records, investigative reports, credit reports, internet-based asset searches, draft motions, responsive pleadings, drafts formal and informal legal opinions, provides day-to-day legal representation for the People of the State of Michigan. Includes extensive driving and frequent court appearances including Probable Cause Conferences, Preliminary Examinations, Pretrials, Hearings, and Trials.
