Job Description

Summary

This role involves overseeing and improving accounting systems and financial processes within the Navy's facilities engineering command, ensuring everything runs accurately and follows government rules.

You'll analyze financial data, fix errors, and develop policies to keep accounts in order.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Staff Accountant in the Financial Management Directorate, FM1 of NAVFAC OSF.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience conducting complex research and analysis of financial data (Ex.

Tie-points, journal vouchers, fluctuation analysis, etc.) for accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.

Experience reviewing artifacts and reconciliations from system conversions for accuracy and reasonableness.

Experience coordinating correction action to resolve accounting and disbursing problems identified during the review of financial systems or as result of operational activities.

  • You will initiate action to correct deficiencies in accounting policies, procedures, and methods of operations.
  • You will develop and administer accounting and disbursing policies and procedures.
