This senior tester role at Colorado's Governor's Office of Information Technology involves testing software applications to ensure they work well for state services, including creating test plans, coordinating with teams, and promoting automation in testing.

Preferred Qualifications:
Automation Leadership: Extensive experience serving as a Test Lead or Automated Test Engineer, with a proven track record of designing and implementing data-driven automation frameworks.
Scripted Automation & CI/CD: Hands-on experience developing scripted automated tests using UI tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, or Katalon) and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
QA Methodologies: Expert-level knowledge of QA best practices, with specific expertise in Agile and DevOps environments.
Technical Testing: Demonstrated expertise in API testing using industry-standard tools (e.g., Insomnia or Postman) and comprehensive Load/Performance testing utilizing JMeter or similar performance modeling software.
Advanced Frameworks: Hands-on experience with API or unit test automation frameworks (e.g., JUnit, NUnit, HTTPUnit) and mocking frameworks (e.g., JMockit, EasyMock).
Workflow Complexity: Proven ability to collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to map and automate complex end-to-end workflows involving multiple modules and pathways.
Technical Toolset: Strong proficiency in SQL, HTML, CSS, and XML, along with experience using debugging/proxy tools like Postman.
DevOps Integration: Practical experience managing work items and testing cycles within Azure DevOps or similar Agile management platforms.
Certifications: Professional certification such as ISTQB/ASTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL).
Accessibility Testing: Experience performing digital accessibility tests using evaluation tools, manual testing, and assistive technologies to ensure compliance with regulations.
OIT candidates and employees must comply with any screening procedures in place at state entity locations where they might be required to perform work.
A pre-employment background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.
Positions supporting some agencies such as the Department of Corrections and the Department of Public Safety will also require a pre-employment drug test.
This position may require travel within the specified geographic area, and to locations across the state as needed.
This position may require on-call duties as needed by the position.
