Full Job Description

This position is located at multiple Aquatics facilities on Fort Bragg, NC.. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Army NAF paysetting rules apply to this vacancy.

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Demonstrated experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports.

This experience may have been gained managing or administering a sports program in a community, industrial activity, or secondary school or college; planning, teaching or evaluating a physical education curriculum for secondary or higher academic levels; or managing, umpiring, or officiating at amateur or professional athletic events, competitions, or games.

Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level. An undergraduate degree in physical education may be fully qualifying for this position.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess USA Swimming, ASCA, CPR and AED Certifications.

In order to be considered for the highly preferred criteria, your resume must show that you meet BOTH the minimum qualifications, and ALL of the high preferred criteria.

Applicants meeting ALL criteria will be considered best qualified, and will be referred to the selecting official first.

Remaining applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (referral list) is returned with no selection. Major Duties:

  • Plans and administers an assigned segment of a sports program. Selects and emphasizes competitive sports activities to be offered.
  • Assists in conducting clinics and seminars to train coaches, officials and/or participants; schedules and publicizes tournaments, and other sports events.
  • Solicits volunteer and paid services for activities. Evaluates the effectiveness of sports activities program objectives.
  • Develops program plans and requirements. Arranges for necessary supplies, transportation, space, and services to accomplish scheduled sports activities.
