Job Description

Summary

This job involves organizing and running sports programs, including leagues, tournaments, and events, while ensuring everything runs safely and fairly at a military base fitness center.

This position is located at Sports, Fitness, and Aquatics Fort Bliss, TX.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Demonstrated experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports.

This experience may have been gained managing or administering a sports program in a community, industrial activity, or secondary school or college; planning, teaching or evaluating a physical education curriculum for secondary or higher academic levels; or managing, umpiring, or officiating at amateur or professional athletic events, competitions, or games.

Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level. An undergraduate degree in physical education may be fully qualifying for this position.

  • Organizes, coordinates, and executes sports leagues, tournaments, and running events in accordance with governing regulations and standards.
  • Applies sports program policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure safe, fair, and effective operations
  • Supports budget and resource management through financial tracking, equipment accountability, and allocation of resources to meet program objectives
  • Prepares quantitative and narrative reports, and communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with diverse stakeholders.
  • Performs field and court setup and maintenance, support daily sports operations, and assists with public relations and marketing for Sports programs.
