Job Description

Summary

This job is for an experienced speech pathologist who helps plan and run programs to diagnose and treat speech and language issues, often working independently under general oversight.

The immediate vacancy is located in Halawa to Kalihi.

Salary: $7,006 to $7,417 per month (SR-22, Step D to I - Salary includes Shortage Category Differential).

Requirements

Participates in and is responsible for a major content area of the speech-language program, involving planning, organizing, coordinating and assisting in the conduct of such a program; or as a highly independent and competent worker, provides diagnostic evaluation and/or therapeutic services in the area of speech-language under the general supervision of a non-technical supervisor; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Note: Some positions may provide services covered under the Felix Consent Decree.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet ALL of the following requirements:

Education: A master's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Speech Pathology.

Experience Requirement: One (1) year of professional experience which dealt with the detection, prevention or the application of remedies for the alleviation or treatment of speech-language disorders, or teaching speech pathology at the graduate level in an accredited university. This experience must be comparable to the Speech Pathologist III in State service.

Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements, will apply.

License: Applicants MUST possess a valid license from the Hawaii State Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology to practice as a Speech Pathologist in the State of Hawaii.

Driver's License: Applicants MUST possess a valid Type-3 Driver's License at the time of appointment.
