Job Description

Summary

This job involves providing speech therapy to students at a school for the deaf and blind, assessing their needs, creating treatment plans, and tracking progress through reports and meetings.

It requires working closely with individual education programs to support students' communication skills.

Key Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders

  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Proficiency in writing progress reports and maintaining timely documentation

Full Job Description

Provides direct and indirect Speech therapy services as indicated on student IEP’s and monitors student progress. Evaluates students to determine need for Speech/Language services, completes written evaluation report, and develops IEP’s as appropriate. Writes progress reports and summaries of treatment for Medicaid and ensures all documentation is complete in a timely manner. Attends IEP meetings as required.

Requirements

Requires Licensure by the SC Department of Education in Speech-Language Therapy; a Master’s Degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology (Communication Disorders); ASHA (American Speech Hearing Association) certification preferred. This position may require communication modalities dependent upon employment placement.
