This job involves working at a landfill to weigh incoming vehicles, process payments for waste disposal, and provide customer service by explaining rules and handling transactions.
It's a clerical role with shift work, including early mornings, evenings, Saturdays, and holidays, in an office or booth setting exposed to weather and dust.

The Office of Administrative Services is actively seeking a Solid Waste Weighmaster.

This is clerical support work in the receipt and processing of solid waste payments for disposal, to include explaining rules, regulations and providing customer service.
The work requires knowledge of the techniques, methods and procedures governing waste disposal and the receipt and processing of disposal fees.
Contacts with others require basic courtesy, tact and effectiveness in dealing with others, including contacts to request or provide information, ask questions, or obtain clarification.
The work is performed following established routines, procedures and standing instructions, and although patterned, some variation in the sequence and choice of procedures used is permitted based on situations encountered in the workplace.
Work is performed in a booth or office and field environment, but the risks and hazards are minimal, known, predictable, and controllable.
The position may be exposed to dust, wind, fumes, and adverse weather conditions. Work schedule is shift work to include early morning and evening hours. Also requires working Saturdays and holidays.
Operates personal computer, calculators, adding machines and other standard office equipment.
The physical demands consist mainly of sitting or standing in one place for extended periods of time and may occasionally require lifting or moving light objects weighing less than 50 pounds.
The work is performed under general supervision where the work is subject to instructions and established work routines and procedures and the worker is given latitude to rearrange the sequence based on changing work situations.
