Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as a clinical social worker in a military hospital in San Diego, California, where you'll assess patients' mental health needs, create treatment plans, provide counseling to individuals, families, and groups, and help with discharge planning for complex medical cases.

Key Requirements

About the Position: This position will be located in Directorate of Mental Health- Psychiatry, Naval Medical Center, San Diego CA.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Major Duties:

  • Work with highly complex cases in which individuals are severely impacted by moderate to severe psychiatric diagnoses.
  • Collect biopsychosocial information about patients through interview, case history, observation techniques, and other assessment methods.
  • Analyze information collected to identify symptoms and develop treatment plan.
  • Provide comprehensive social work services in the form of casework and case management by consulting on or developing discharge plans.
  • Provide individual, family, and group clinical counseling services using various evidenced based modalities as clinically indicated for adults and children.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on psychiatric diagnosis.
  • Provide emergency on-call crisis management services for behavioral health cases and all other social work needs as designated by the section or department needs.
