Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as a licensed clinical social worker at a U.S.

military hospital in South Korea, where you'll provide counseling, crisis support, and behavioral health services mainly for children and teens, often in hospital and school environments.

You'll assess needs, develop programs, and team up with families, caregivers, and school staff to help beneficiaries.

About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, Defense Health Network Indo-Pacific, at Brian D. Allgood Army Community Hospital, Camp Humphreys, Republic of Korea.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

Basic Requirement for Social Worker (Clinical): Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

AND Licensure: This position requires a current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently offered by a U.S.

State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: performing clinical services to assess, diagnose, and treat children and adolescents; providing individual or group clinical counseling; AND collaborating with patient's support systems such as parents, primary caregivers, family members, and school staff.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Major Duties:

  • Serve as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), providing behavioral health services and crisis intervention for beneficiaries in the behavioral health program.
  • Exercise full professional responsibility for the soundness and validity of recommendations, reports, services, findings, interpretations, and decisions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for emergency services and crisis intervention within the Medical Treatment Facility Behavioral Health Service.
  • Incumbent independently conduct ongoing assessments of the social work role within the program and provide behavioral health needs assessments, which translate to program development and evaluation inclusive of modification of existing services.
  • The position will require the incumbent to work in both hospital and school settings.
