Requirements

As a Social Worker 2, you will develop, implement, and coordinate social service programs for an assigned caseload.

You will collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team during pre-placement planning and discharge processing, review voluntary and involuntary case intake and documentation, and ensure services provided meet the needs of individuals, families, and medical assistance standards.

You will also develop comprehensive individual care, treatment, and support services plans.

This role requires a genuine desire to foster secure and therapeutic environments that promote the development of skills needed to enjoy everyday life in the community.

In addition, you will serve as a member of the Human Rights Committee and motivate individuals to embrace their potential for improving social, economic, emotional, physical, and mental health well-being.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work weekends as needed. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime and travel as needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or Forensic Social Worker 1 (commonwealth titles) (must have been employed in a commonwealth social worker job title on September 8, 2008, with continuous commonwealth employment); or
  • Two years of experience as a Social Worker 1 or a Forensic Social Worker 1 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration )and a bachelor’s degree in social work or social welfare; or
  • Two years of professional experience providing direct public or private social work services, and a bachelor’s degree in social work or social welfare; or
  • A master's degree in social work or social welfare.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
