This job involves leading a team of post-trial prisoners in a naval corrections facility to create signs, posters, and graphic displays using painting and design skills.
The role focuses on supervising daily operations, assigning tasks, and ensuring high-quality work in a structured workshop environment.
It's a good fit for someone with hands-on experience in sign painting or graphic arts who can manage diverse groups effectively and has strong leadership abilities.
You will serve as a Sign Painter Supervisor in the Navy Personnel Command (NAVPERSCOM) Corrections and Programs Office (PERS-00D) ofNAVAL CONSOLIDATED BRIG MIRAMAR.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Ability to Lead or Supervise others; 2) Working with a diverse group of people, (e.g., prisoners), producing signs and posters, decorating models and displays, or performing other functions requiring skill in lettering and graphic arts; 3) Providing given instructions to post-trial individuals, (e.g., prisoners), to use industry standards hardware and software for graphic design as it relates the signs art; and/or 4) Operating industry standard software which support graphic design.
I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
