Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of inspectors who check ship systems for quality in a naval shipyard, focusing on planning resources, ensuring efficient use of staff and materials, and supporting ship repair projects.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SHIPS SYSTEMS INSPECTOR SUPERVISOR II in the Quality Assurance Department, Inspection Branch (Code 133) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

  • You will utilize Total Quality Leadership and continuously and constantly improve work processes, and manpower and material resources effectively and efficiently.
  • You will work closely and report directly to the Ship Systems Inspection Branch Head and be responsible for providing direct support of all Project Management Teams within the Operations Department.
  • You will ensure personnel and equipment are available for the quality assurance inspections for non-nuclear products and work.
  • You will generate the monthly Workload Allocation Resources Report by comparing future work and the history of similar work accomplished to establish an optimum plan to ensure there are sufficient qualified workforce to support future projects.
  • You will ensure that manpower and material expenditures are directly linked to program/mission objectives, that expenditures remain within approved budget levels, and that positions and/or organizational structures promote efficiency and economy.
  • You will provide advanced planning support by gathering planning information on future ship work assignments.
