You will serve as a Sheet Metal Mechanic Training Leader in the Command Operations Department, Human Capital Management Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO INSTRUCT: (1) Instructing on the theory, operation, function, troubleshooting procedures, checks and adjustments, maintenance and repair of aircraft structures/systems, components, tools, and equipment used for repair and aviation aircraft and components; (2) Performing training development functions in the assigned subject matter and assisting with development of general aviation technical training courses and lessons; (3) Evaluating student achievement and diagnosing student learning difficulties for particularly low and high ability students or groups, while improving instruction through student counseling and the application of innovative or advanced instructional techniques; (4) Performing preventive maintenance as required on assigned equipment, as well as ensuring assigned equipment is fully functional for training purposes as specified in the written training plan; (5) Making recommendations for improved system performance based on direct knowledge and experience, along with demonstrating proper trade techniques and practices to explain safety precautions to be followed; and (6) Collaborating with the production, engineering, and quality departments to develop the required technical training and special process certification to keep necessary progress records and evaluating the trainees' progress.
