This job involves leading a team of sheet metal mechanics who repair and maintain aircraft structures, ensuring high-quality work while overseeing safety, progress, and training for the crew.
It's ideal for an experienced aircraft mechanic who enjoys mentoring others and managing daily operations in a hands-on Navy workshop.
A good fit would be someone reliable, skilled in metal fabrication, and comfortable working independently with minimal oversight.
You will serve as a SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT) LEADER in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST DET.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
