This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT), Position Description Number PDD0416000, and is part of the SC AASF, South Carolina Army National Guard.

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Area 1 Only.

Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the ability to plan, manufacture, and install cylindrical, square, or rectangular-shaped objects that have easily constructed fastenings such as single and double-hem edges and single, double or grooved seams.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience or training in planning, layout, and construction skills to manufacture items and systems with dovetailed seams, set-in-bottom seams, burred-bottom seams, or wired or lock seams.

Experience using more complicated shop tools and equipment. Experience in using metals including stainless steel, copper sheet, magnesium, honeycomb material and alloys.

Experience demonstrating the use of more complicated mathematical calculations and complicated measuring instruments. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1.

Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2.

This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.

An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3.

This position is located in the Component Repair Shop of an Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF). The purpose of this position is to perform sheet metal maintenance on aircraft and components.

Work involves the fabrication, modification, repair, assembly, and installation of sheet metal parts, items, and assemblies.

Metals include but are not restricted to galvanized and black iron, aluminum and aluminum alloys, stainless steel, copper, and brass sheets, lead alloys and bronze.
