Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading efforts to prevent and respond to sexual assault within a defense agency, including managing reports, providing support to victims, and ensuring the organization follows federal policies.

It requires coordinating training for staff and advising leaders on compliance and risk reduction.

A good fit would be someone with experience in program management, victim advocacy, and understanding government regulations, ideally from military or federal backgrounds.

Key Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 level in administering sexual assault prevention and response programs
  • Experience conducting program assessments, identifying risks, and implementing corrective actions

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position.

To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes: Administering a sexual assault prevention and response program Conducting SAPR program assessments, identifying systemic risks, and implementing corrective actions to strengthen readiness and compliance Interpreting and operationalizing complex Federal and DoW SAPR regulation Advising leadership on SAPR policy, risk mitigation, and compliance Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Serves as the agency’s primary point of contact for sexual assault prevention and response capabilities in accordance with Department of War (DoW) SAPR policy
  • Monitors legislative, DoW, and SAPR Office policy changes and determines how to implement them across the organization
  • Provides confidential reporting options, safety planning, and referrals to medical, legal, and advocacy resources
  • Receives and manages all component sexual assault reports in which there is no military affiliation
  • Delivers DoW-approved SAPR training for supervisors, employees, LER Liaisons, HR, EEO, IG, Security, and other stakeholders
