This job involves answering hotline calls about suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children and vulnerable adults, then carefully documenting the details from interviews and various sources into state databases.
Workers must follow strict legal and procedural guidelines while meeting tight deadlines to ensure quick responses.

Position functions as an intake specialist assigned to the Centralized Intake (CI) unit.
Employees in this position will answer calls received on the MDHHS Centralized Intake hotline for reports of the abuse, neglect and exploitation of children and vulnerable adults.
The employee will document complaint information obtained from callers during phone interviews as well as information obtained from multiple information systems and resources, working under strict timelines and in accordance with law, policy and operational procedures.
Complaints regarding the welfare of children will be entered into the Michigan Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (MiSACWIS).
Complaints regarding the welfare of adults will be entered into the Michigan Adult Integrated Management System (MiAIMS).

A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
This position is not eligible for the children's protective services/foster care program rate, but is classified as a Services Specialist in CPS (you will be doing CPS Intake).
The Centralized Intake Unit has many different shift schedules.
