  • Ability to operate manual, gas, and hand-held electrical tools and equipment
  • Daily vehicle preparation and inspection skills, including checking oil, fuel, brakes, and lights
  • Inventory management of equipment, materials, and supplies
  • Fingerprinting required; safety-sensitive position (no)

Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • If assigned to Public Works or Utilities: One (1) year of experience in the maintenance and repair of utilities, stormwater or transportation infrastructure.
Licenses or Certifications
  • If assigned to Public Works or Utilities: Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic/Temporary Traffic Control certification within six (6) months of hire or promotion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventories daily equipment and materials and stocks appropriate supplies in assigned City vehicle(s) per work orders, i.e., traffic control devices, plumbing supplies, and tools.
  • Prepares assigned City vehicle(s) daily, i.e., checking oil, fuel, brakes, and lights.
  • Ensures the safe and effective operating condition of vehicles and equipment by inspecting work order materials for defects, malfunctioning, or otherwise substandard conditions. Notifies supervisor of concerns.
  • Utilizes various manual, gas, and hand-held electrical tools and equipment to perform assigned tasks.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
