Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is seeking multiple driven and experienced Senior Recruiters to join our collaborative and innovative Talent Acquisition Team.

Requirements

Primary Job Responsibilities for this Senior Recruiter:

This position is responsible for proactively sourcing and maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified talent using a variety of recruitment strategies and tools.

As a trusted advisor and partner, you will provide full-cycle recruitment support to meet complex operational and strategic staffing needs.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Proactively source, engage, and maintain a diverse pipeline of candidates through multiple channels, including LinkedIn, professional associations, community-based and diverse organizations, and networking.
  • Identify and engage passive candidates, assess candidate qualifications, and evaluate alignment with position requirements.
  • Utilize the City’s applicant tracking system (NEOGOV) to develop job announcements, create time-sensitive recruitment plans, promote opportunities, screen applications, and collaborate closely with hiring managers and HR partners.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including consulting with hiring managers to define job requirements; sourcing and screening candidates; and coordinating and conducting interviews (e.g., working tests, in-person and virtual interviews).
  • Represent SPU at in-person and virtual job fairs, outreach activities, and recruitment events.

Qualifications

Experience: Two (2) years of professional experience in recruitment, community outreach, human resources, or related field.

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related field; *If no degree, two (2) additional years of relevant experience is required.

To be successful in this role, a candidate should demonstrate many of the following qualifications:

  • Experience managing high-volume and hard-to-fill recruitments.
  • Strong knowledge of diversity, equity, inclusion, and Race and Social Justice (RSJ) recruitment best practices.
  • A proven commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Strong attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A solid understanding of HR compliance requirements and confidentiality standards.
  • Experience sourcing and engaging passive candidates using a variety of effective recruitment techniques.

The full salary range for this position is $47.39 - $55.19 per hour.

Workplace Environment/Expectation: This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. City employees will have the option to work remotely two days a week. Individual schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.
