Full Job Description

This position is located in the Department of the Treasury, Departmental Offices (DO), Office of the Assistant Secretary for International Markets and Development (International Affairs), Office of Investment, Energy, and Infrastructure, International Development Policy Office.

The purpose of this position is to serve as a Senior International Health Economist in IA's Office of International Development Policy.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized Experience for this position includes: Applying analytical methods of international economics and public policy analysis, such as: macroeconomic analysis, statistics, econometrics, financial analysis, analysis of international trade, development finance, or public policy analysis; AND Working with international health economics and the implications & trends in economic activity on health sector spending; AND Communicating results of analyses and making policy recommendations.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized Experience for this position includes: Performing analysis in areas, such as: macroeconomic analysis, statistics, econometrics, financial analysis, analysis of international trade, development finance, or public policy analysis; AND Working with international health economics, international assistance for health; AND Communicating results of analyses.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-15.

If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

Serve as authoritative expert on the role of health and health-related areas of development in country-level and global economic outlooks.

Based on analyses and professional knowledge, the incumbent would provide expert and authoritative technical and policy advice to senior Treasury Department officials with the goal of integrating these concepts in ongoing bilateral and multilateral engagements.

Independently planning and executing economic policy research of great importance to the Government and Treasury Department.

Make high level policy recommendations, and drafts new or revised proposals for economic policy change
