The Enterprise Solutions Office (ESO), Bureau of Application Management Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Applications Developer to design, build, and enhance critical applications that support agency operations across the enterprise. Requirements

As a Senior Applications Developer, you will design, develop, and implement new applications based on business requirements, using the technologies best suited for each project.

You will also maintain and enhance existing applications, determining when full redevelopment is necessary to meet technical or business objectives.

Collaboration with database administrators is essential to create, install, update, and manage databases that support application functionality. Key responsibilities include:

• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues
• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, QA teams, and stakeholders
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers
• Participate in DevOps processes including CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Contribute to technical documentation and system design artifacts

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week.

In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as an Applications Developer 2 or Computer Programmer 4 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Five years of information technology experience that includes three years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or
• Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or
• One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

• This particular position also requires at least three years of full-time professional experience in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-level applications, including experience with programming languages such as C# and JavaScript, cloud-based architectures, RESTful API development, and DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization).

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
