As a Senior Advisor, you will support and deliver sound and well-informed advice to the senior executive leadership on critical issues, processes, and programs that have a wide-ranging impact.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 03/30/2026.

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.

The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 03/30/2026. Application Limit: This vacancy is limited to the first 25 applications received.

GS-15: You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.

You must have experience performing the following duties: Providing counsel to executive leadership on applicable laws and regulations affecting immigrations programs.

Independently gathering, analyzing, and tracking information to evaluate and support agency's execution of overall strategy.

Tracking and improving performance measures for executive correspondence. Advising senior leadership on sensitive and urgent matters.

  • Provides advice to agency top executive leadership on matters involving citizenship and immigration services, operations and programs.
  • Deliver confidential, highly sensitive and executive-level support for managing and directing complex and highly sensitive national security programs and federal efforts.
  • Conducts complex and high-priority special assignments on behalf of the agency's leadership involving extensive research, fact-finding, and program improvements.
  • Manage correspondence processes and review the critical and politically sensitive cases for the Director or Deputy Director’s signatures, to include correspondence sent to USCIS and DHS leadership, the President or Senior White House officials.
  • Manage long–range plans to re-engineer executive correspondence clearance processes, procedures, and vetting process proposals with other USCIS offices.
