Requirements

As a Semi Skilled Laborer, you will perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks or mechanical assignments under the supervision of the Mechanic Supervisor. Your responsibilities will vary based on seasonal demands and work priorities, encompassing ground maintenance duties such as caring for the lawn and other hospital properties, as well as trimming hedges, shrubs, and trees. Additionally, you will be responsible for removing snow, utilizing hand and gas powered equipment, and performing routine preventative maintenance as assigned. Tasks will be delegated through work orders, and you will complete them either independently, collaboratively with other staff, or by assisting skilled tradesmen.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Overtime and travel are required as needed.
• Free parking!
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
