Job Description

Summary

This job involves acting as an expert on various security matters for a defense agency, managing personnel clearances, physical protections, and handling of classified information to support cyber defense missions.

It requires overseeing briefings, assessments, training, and investigations to ensure security policies are followed without breaches.

A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience in security programs from military or government roles, who is detail-oriented and comfortable with sensitive materials.

Full Job Description

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service.

It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - FE/Endpoint Svcs /Customer Spt Directorate.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-11, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience such as experience implementing security concepts, principles, and practices in programs of as personnel security, physical security, information security, industrial, and operations security.

Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume.

All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Major Duties:

  • Serves as a subject matter expert and analyst to the Commander on all precedented, collateral-related security matters, and facilitates the execution of security policies and regulations.
  • Manages all aspects of personnel security, including conducting initial security briefings, pre-screening, and indoctrination for all incoming personnel.
  • Administers and coordinates physical security measures for all collateral areas which includes participating in vulnerability assessments and overseeing structural alterations to maintain security integrity.
  • Directs the information security program by providing education and training on the proper handling, storage, transport, and destruction of classified materials to heighten security awareness and prevent compromises.
  • Conducts investigations and manages classified materials by collecting information for personnel and special investigative inquiries and controlling all classified documents assigned to JSP, DISA CONUS
