Full Job Description

You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST for SURFCOMSYSTRNCMD AEGIS TRAREDCEN.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing and implementing Physical Security, Anti-Terrorism (AT) and Emergency Management (EM) instructions, procedures and manuals; 2) Conducting security program reviews, vulnerability analyses, and physical security assessments; 3) Analyzing complex security challenges to develop and implement effective corrective actions; and 4) Developing detailed reports and delivering strategic briefings to leadership.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will provide guidance in interpreting and complying with Department of War (DOW), Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) and Operations Navy (OPNAV) directives, manuals, instructions and policy.
  • You will develop Physical Security, Anti-Terrorism (AT), and Emergency Management (EM) instructions, procedures and manuals.
  • You will manage the Electronic Security System (ESS), access control, key control, combination and lock programs.
  • You will conduct AT vulnerability, criticality, design basis, mission essential and risk assessments and recommends approval of mission essential vulnerable assets.
  • You will manage the ATRC Emergency Management Team in evaluating drills and facility evacuations, determining effectiveness and efficiency of training and procedures.
  • You will develop and implement Physical Security, AT and EM education and training programs and ensures annual training requirements are met by all ATRC personnel.
