Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping manage security programs for a naval command, including analyzing risks, training staff, inspecting facilities, and ensuring compliance with national security rules.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Command Operations Group, Command Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC).

Qualifying experience for GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate performing some or all of the following duties 1.

) Aiding in the analysis and making recommendations on all aspects of a National Security Program such as Industrial or Personnel Security; 2.) Supporting development, maintenance, and documenting security plans, SOPs, and instructions to ensure compliance with all directives; 3.) Conducting security training for all personnel; 4.) Managing and validating requirements for all secure rooms and special access spaces, including processing requests for construction or modification; 5.) Monitoring security programs, conducting inspections, tracking violations, and recommending corrective actions.

Qualifying experience for GS-09 I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties: 1.)Aiding in the analysis and making recommendations on all aspects of a National Security Program such as Industrial or Personnel Security; 2.) Conducting security training for all personnel; 3.) Managing and validating requirements for all secure rooms and special access spaces, including processing requests for construction or modification; 4.) Monitoring security programs, conducting inspections, tracking violations, and recommending corrective actions.

  • You will evaluate security documentation to ensure adequate protection is provided in meeting the terms within the security program requirements.

  • You will manage the handling, mailing, and safeguarding of classified materials.
  • You will initiate personnel security investigations for clearances.
  • You will review contracts to ensure security requirements are met
