This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
The incumbent will serve as the Security Officer (Special Access Programs) in the Joint Staff Special Access Programs Central Office (JS SAPCO) and is the technical specialist in governance, protection, and administration of SAP matters.
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Recognizing Department of Defense (DoD), Joint Staff and intelligence community directives governing Special Access Programs (SAP) oversight, protection, and administrative practices to develop Joint Staff policies and procedures for implementation; Understanding Special Access Programs to provide recommendations regarding SAP program matters; Identifying SAP IT systems to provide technical knowledge and serve as a member of the Senior SAP Information Technology Working Group; Overseeing the inspection and investigation procedures and responsibilities to ensure these actions are accomplished and incorporating findings from investigations into methods to ensure infractions are reduced in the future.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level. Major Duties:
As a SECURITY OFFICER (SPECIAL ACCESS PROGRAMS) at the GS-0080-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Conducts reviews and oversight of Joint Staff and Combatant Command SAP operations policies, procedures, and activities, ensuring compliance with all Joint Staff and DoD legal, fiscal, and operational policies, procedures and federal statutory regulations.
Provides expert advice and guidance on all staffing actions regarding operations and support SAPs as they affect the Joint Staff.
Develops and maintains inspection criteria, security procedures, and standards for SAPs within the JS and CCMDs.
Serves as a SAP technical expert who responds to all JS and CCMD requests for assistance with SAP matters.
