About the Position: Serve as an armed security guard that performs various aspects of law enforcement work designed to maintain law and order and preserve the peace for the Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC) Campus and outlying clinics and buildings.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience 1) Maintaining order by patrolling perimeters and protecting life 2) Writing and reviewing incident reports and responding to emergency situations and security breaches.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04) Major Duties:

  • Patrolling facilities and/or restricting individual's access to locations.
  • Secure found drugs, weapons, and contraband.
  • Perform random spot checks for compliance with key control, supply, property and vehicle security regulations and directives.
  • Respond and react appropriately to hostage situations and abductions, which involves exercising situational judgment.
  • Verifying authentication of badges, registrations, or property passes of staff and visitors.
  • Conduct funds escorts for treasury and Nutrition Care Division for daily deposits.
