Full Job Description

You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT (OFFICE AUTOMATION in the COMMAND OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT and SECURITY DIVISION of NAVBASE CORONADO SEC DET.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Ordering office supplies Composing correspondence and reports using word processing software Utilizing correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization to complete documents Receiving visitors and/or screening phone calls to determine the nature of requests to direct callers to the appropriate person or office Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will respond to requests for general information from internal and external contacts.
  • You will process incoming and outgoing security briefings and verify security clearance status.
  • You will coordinate outgoing visit requests involving security clearance certification and requests for access to classified information.
  • You will issue Common Access Cards (CACs) using the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS)/Real-Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS).
  • You will coordinate all office FRC SW Visit Request for VIP, military, DoD, civilian, contractor, government officials with FRC SW Points of Contact within the Command.
  • You will process new employees and review data records in the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) to determine if the required Personnel Security Investigation (PSI) has been conducted.
  • You will accomplish other duties as assigned.
