This position is part of the Deputy Administrator for Naval Reactors, Department of Energy.

National Nuclear Security Administration Demonstration Project: This position is covered by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Demonstration Project.

The NU-02 pay band is equivalent to the GS-05 to GS-08 grade levels. For more information on the NNSA Demonstration Project and Pay Band/Salary Tables, review.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting the following: Demonstrated knowledge of personnel security polices and procedures, personnel security clearance processing, and polices and procedures related to visitor control.

As a Security Assistant, you will: Ensure NRHQ portion of the DOE Centralized Personnel Clearance Index (CPCI) is accurate and consistent with Personnel Security Files (PSF).

Process foreign travel requests to non-sensitive countries. Process initial clearance and continuous vetting applications and upon receipt performs initial screening of OPM investigation reports.

Receive and process reportable information, submits cases to OPM, processes SF-312s. Process visit requests as well as adjudicate and sponsor badges within USAccess system.

Process and evaluate electronic Questionnaire for National Security Positions (QNSP).
