GS-07:To be eligible at the GS-07 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level.
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-8 level.
Specialized experience is defined as performing the following types of duties: receiving telephone calls and greeting visitors to the office; responding to inquiries and providing general information; producing a variety of written documents utilizing several types of office automation software; and entering information into an automated database.
GS-08:To be eligible at the GS-08 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level.
Specialized experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level.
Specialized experience is defined as performing the following types of duties receiving telephone calls and greeting visitors to the office; responding to inquiries and providing general information; producing a variety of written documents utilizing several types of office automation software; entering information into an automated database, screening and distributing incoming mail to appropriate personnel, scheduling and maintaining travel requests/logs, and maintaining management level calendars.
To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.) Major Duties:
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for office automation and clerical support duties in the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Georgia.
Typical work assignments will include: Receives all incoming telephone calls directed to the USAO Handles routine inquiries from both staff and visitors, providing technical assistance and answering questions regarding the general nature of the USAO Along with all other USAO employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the USAO office.
The staff responsibilities precede all other required by this position are performed on a regular and recurring basis Establishes and maintains files for reports and statistical data, as well as other administrative material Processing all incoming and outgoing mail.
Prepares time and attendance (T&A) for assigned personnel.
Prepares travel arraignments and claims Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
