Full Job Description

You will serve as a Secretary in the Executive Department, N01; US NAVSUPPORT (NAVSUPPACT NAPLES) in Capodichino, Italy.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing office automation software to prepare correspondence, spreadsheets, briefs and reports 2) Receiving, screen and forward phone calls and visitors 3) Applying proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and format to correspondence 4) Maintain records of official correspondence Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

  • You will schedule conferences and meetings ensuring time, location, and attendees are established according to specific guidance.
  • You will answer requests for routine operation information to assist customers.
  • You will draft emails, letters, memoranda, or reports in support of administrative practices.
  • You will verify outgoing correspondence for accuracy (e.g., grammatical, factual, conformance to policy or procedure).
  • You will use an automated calendar to schedule appointments.
  • You will use office automation software, word processors, graphics, spreadsheets, database management systems, to produce a wide variety of documents, incorporate data from different software applications, or update databases accordingly.
  • You will receive visitors or phone calls, determine purpose, and refer to staff member.
  • You will screen visitors or phone calls to ensure inquiries are routed to the appropriate personnel.
  • You will perform follow-up action on administrative actions to ensure that timelines are met.
