A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected.

The display of a salary range on this vacancy shall not be construed as granting an entitlement to a higher rate of pay. Open to the first 100 applicants or until 01/20/2026 whichever comes first.

SELECTIVE FACTOR: This position operates one or more vehicles which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of up to 26,000 pounds, and a Driver's License is required.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

As a Preservation Worker, you will perform the following duties: Performs a variety of preservation trade work needed to build, maintain, restore, and/or preserve historic structures and landscapes.

Perform plastering, roofing, painting, carpentry, sandblasting, preservation services, and motor vehicle operations.

May also perform laborer and custodial working duties such as digging ditches, sweeping, cleaning work areas and maintaining tools and workshop area. Perform gardening and masonry duties.

Transports passengers, supplies, materials, equipment, and/or tools, or to tow equipment throughout rural or urban areas.

Sweeps and cleans work areas and tools in order to maintain a clean and orderly workshop.

Preserves historic engines, machinery, and similar equipment, and perform partial disassembly for preservation purposes.
